Clean Lemon Herb Salmon & Asparagus
This meal is everything we love about clean eating — simple ingredients, bold flavor, and serious nutritional value. Salmon is one of the best sources of lean protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart health, reduce inflammation, and fuel muscle recovery. Paired with fiber-rich asparagus, this dish is a complete, balanced meal that fits perfectly into any wellness or fitness lifestyle.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp Italian herb seasoning
- 1 medium lemon
Side: Sautéed Asparagus
Ingredients
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Grease a large baking pan.
- Arrange salmon fillets on the baking sheet and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Stir together olive oil, garlic, Italian herbs, and the juice of 1/2 lemon. Spoon the mixture over the salmon fillets, rubbing it all over the tops and sides so there are no dry spots.
- Thinly slice the remaining 1/2 lemon and place a slice on top of each piece of salmon.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily when pulled apart with a fork. For a golden finish, broil for the last 1–2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired and serve.
For the Sautéed Asparagus
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add asparagus and sauté for 10–15 minutes, tossing occasionally, until desired tenderness.
- Season with sea salt and serve alongside the salmon.

- Cauliflower rice — a low-carb option for those in a cutting phase
Storage & Meal Prep Tips
- Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 275°F for 10–15 minutes to keep the salmon moist, or microwave in 30-second intervals.
- Meal prep: This recipe is great for weekly meal prep — cook all 4 fillets and portion with your sides for easy grab-and-go lunches or dinners throughout the week.
💪 Coach's Tip
Salmon is one of my go-to proteins for clients focused on body composition and overall wellness. The healthy fats keep you satiated, the protein supports muscle repair, and the omega-3s do wonders for inflammation and brain health. I recommend incorporating fatty fish like salmon at least 2–3 times per week as part of a balanced, whole-foods lifestyle. This recipe is proof that eating clean doesn’t have to be complicated — just real food, real flavor, real results.
